Dr Jannen Tan, BDSc (Hons) (Melb), MRACDS (PDS), FICOI, MAICD)

Jannen graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) in 2007. Upon graduation, he followed the sunshine and moved up to Bundaberg, Queensland, where he was in very successful private practice till 2020. Jannen has completed his Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Primary Examinations, where he received five commendations and topped the cohort in Physiology and Biochemistry. With a lifelong commitment to continuing education, Dr Tan constantly upskills and keeps updated with the latest surgical techniques and technology. In 2022, he was awarded a Fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

He spent 2010 as a Registrar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Christchurch Hospital NZ, gaining valuable experience in treating facial fractures, oral medicine and surgery, including removing hundreds of wisdom teeth stuck in all angles, shapes and sizes.

In 2020, he moved back home to Melbourne and co-founded Ascend Dental, whilst continually developing and upgrading his Surgical skill set. He currently leads the Ascend Dental Surgical Team as Director of Surgery and is responsible for continuing education, training and development of over 50 Clinicians in the area of Oral and Implant Surgery.

Jannen has focused interests in full mouth rehabilitations, dental implants and oral surgery. He is well known for being gentle, quick and efficient, making even the most complex treatment feel like a breeze. Dr Tan’s clinical practice is focused on Oral and Implant Surgery, and he sees patients on referral.

Jannen also holds a private pilot licence, enjoys travelling, good food and is a keen scuba diver. He also thinks he can ride a horse, having not fallen off for over three years. In addition to English, Jannen is fluent in Mandarin.

Dr Reza Ronagh, BDSc (Hons) (Melb)

Reza has been at Melbourne Dental Vision since 2012. A familiar face to many of our long-time patients, he strives to provide top-quality care, making every visit pleasant and enjoyable.

Highly skilled with over 20 years of experience, Reza provides all aspects of general dentistry. He also has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery and dental implants. Reza is also skilled at complex implant placement, including all-on-x (T24) implant-retained denture solutions. In addition to English, Reza also speaks Farsi.

Dr Drew Langan

Drew graduated with distinction from Leeds University in the United Kingdom before carrying out further post graduate training in maxillofacial surgery and restorative dentistry.

Drew carries out all aspects of dentistry with his main focuses being oral surgery/implants and complex extractions including wisdom teeth removal. Drew is one of our surgical team members operating regularly under general anaesthetic (sleep dentistry) for anxious patients, medically compromised, children and those requiring more complex treatment. Further treatments provided include crown and bridge work, composite bonding, whitening and cosmetic dentistry.

Drew’s main philosophy is a tailored approach; providing care specific to individual patient needs. His aim is to make patients of all ages feel comfortable and confident.

Outside of work Drew enjoys travelling, gym, martial arts, swimming and socialising.

Dr Greg Hsiao, BDSc

Dr Greg Hsiao graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1999 and joined the Ascend Dental surgical team in 2023. His practice includes full mouth rehabilitation and reconstruction, surgical dental implant placement, removal of impacted wisdom teeth, and other procedures that may require general anaesthesia. Dr Hsiao also manages airway and sleep apnoea cases, as well as BOTOX® injections.

Dr Hsiao loves tailoring treatment plans to suit his patients’ smile goals and budgets. His biggest reward is seeing patients’ increased happiness and confidence once their treatment is complete.

When he isn’t working, Dr Hsiao practices traditional Japanese martial arts, and he holds a black belt in Aikido. He also teaches clinical sessions to dental students.
